An important part of the onboarding process is complete all of the following:

PRE-PLACEMENT HEALTH CLEARANCE EVALUATION

Every new UCI Health co-worker is required to obtain pre-placement health clearance prior to their first day of work. If you will be working at UCI Health – Orange, UCI Health – Irvine, or any of our ambulatory locations, Occupational Health will provide your health clearance. Please review the Pre-Placement Health Clearance sheet you received from your talent representative for your requirements and instructions. For questions or to schedule an appointment, please contact Occupational Health.

If you will be working at one of our Community Network hospitals (Fountain Valley, Lakewood, Los Alamitos or Placentia Linda), please contact your local Human Resources team or local Employee Health team for instructions on how to schedule individual onboarding appointments. Information for Community Network locations are shown below.

GET YOUR AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION (AHA) CARD

UCI Health only accepts BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications that have the American Heart Association logo in the corner, indicating the class is current with AHA standards. Please see examples of the approved cards below. There are no exceptions.

If your new role requires any of these certifications, please be advised that you must present an active card displaying the AHA logo no later than your first day of employment. Please be sure to present both the front and back of the card and include your signature on the back side as well. NOTE: As of August 2025, all cards are now electronic. Be prepared to present your card on your mobile device.

MAPS & PARKING INFORMATION

Please familiarize yourself with the regulations for your parking permit. The Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) program aims to provide great customer service and meet the parking needs of our community while following State Laws, California Vehicle Code, and University Policy. HEALTH UNIFORM ORDERING

Community Network Hospitals

Community Network hospital locations (Fountain Valley, Lakewood, Los Alamitos and Placentia Linda) do NOT currently provide uniforms. Please speak with your local HR onboarding team for uniform information.

UCI Health – Orange, UCI Health – Irvine, and Ambulatory Locations

UCI Health – Orange, UCI Health – Irvine, and ambulatory locations provide uniform allocations and ordering through Cintas. New employee allotment accounts are typically active the Tuesday after your NEO session.

Order Your Uniforms

  • Visit shop.mycintas.com
  • Your username is ‘UCI’ followed by your employee ID number, for example UCI12345678.
  • Leave the password field blank and click ‘sign in’ to create a password.
  • Log in using your username (e.g., UCI12345678) and new password.
  • Click on Allotment Program, make your selections, and check out like any other online store. You can also click on Employee Purchase site to purchase any uniforms within your program out of pocket.

Allotments

  • 5 days a week, 8 hours a day full-time employees are eligible for 5 tops, 5 bottoms, and 1 jacket.
  • 3 days a week, 12 hours a day full-time employees are eligible for 3 tops, 3 bottoms, and 1 jacket.
  • Per Diem employees are eligible for 2 tops, 2 bottoms, and 1 jacket.
  • Pharmacists and Pharmacy Techs are eligible for 2 lab coats.
