PROGRAM
UCI’s Health Care Facilitator (HCF) is here to help faculty and staff, retirees, survivors and their eligible family members, to better understand and obtain the full benefits and services available from the UC-sponsored health plans. Your Health Care Facilitator is a knowledgeable counselor who will provide you with confidential one-on-one assistance in resolving health plan issues.
The Health Care
Facilitator can
help you to:
- Understand your UC health plan coverage and patient rights
- Define your health care issues
- Navigate the health care system
- Resolve issues with your doctor, medical group or medical plan carrier
- Understand how Medicare benefits coordinate with UC-sponsored medical plans
The Health Care
Facilitator
does not:
- Provide medical
or legal advice - Act as a patient care advocate for services/ benefits that are not offered
by UC’s plans - Suggest treatment plans

KWAME WHITE
UCI Health Care Facilitator
Kwame loves helping people maximize the value of their UC-Sponsored coverage. He has spent the majority of his career in the healthcare industry, gaining experience as a physician, healthcare administrator, and as a benefits analyst for UCI before moving into the role of Health Care Facilitator.
Kwame holds a BA in Biological Sciences from USC, an MD from Wake Forest School of Medicine, and an MPPA from Northwestern University. After hours, you can find him either in the company of his son, or spinning the tunes on his radio show.
ROSENA RUM
UCI Health Care Facilitator
Rosena embarked on her journey of mastering benefits knowledge in 2017 as a Benefits Analyst, and has since become a vital resource for colleagues navigating health care and retirement options. With a genuine passion for helping others, she aims to provide invaluable support during challenging times – whether through offering solutions, giving advice, or lending a compassionate ear.
A proud UC Irvine alumna, Rosena holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science and a minor in English. When she's not at work, you can find her soaking up the outdoors with her two loyal German Shepherds, Willow and River, or catching waves at the beach on the weekends!
