CAL/OSHA GUIDANCE FOR FACE COVERINGS & DISTANCING

(Consistant with CDPH Guidance, effective June 15, 2021)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Requirements for All Areas

Masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status on UCI Health premises in non-patient care areas, including breakrooms and areas where patient care is not being provided.

Physical distancing is generally required, especially where specifically noted.

Campus employees are still required to complete Daily Symptom Check.

Business meetings are permitted, subject to masking requirements below.

Specific Requirements for UCI Health / Clinical Settings

  • All co-workers, faculty, trainees, volunteers, visitors, and vendors must mask and practice distancing in all patient care areas, regardless of vaccination status (see slide 2 for list of patient care designations).
  • All co-workers, faculty, trainees, volunteers, visitors, and vendors must continue to screen daily for cold symptoms prior to entering UCI Health premises. Regardless of vaccination status, symptomatic co-workers will be required to report to Occupational Health for evaluation for COVID testing and clearance. If your results are negative and you are cleared by Occupational Health, you may return to work. However, if you have mild cold symptoms, you must mask, practice distancing, and clean your hands often. Please follow our Working Well Policy for additional guidance.

VACCINATED

  • Masks are required for fully vaccinated individuals.

UCI Health / Clinical Settings

  • Vaccinated individuals must to mask on UCI Health premises in non-patient care areas, including breakrooms and areas where patient care is not being provided.

UNVACCINATED

  • Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings and businesses.
  • If you are eating or drinking you must remain six feet away from all others.

UCI Health / Clinical Settings

  • Unvaccinated individuals must mask indoors while on any UCI Health premises and are highly recommended to mask outdoors if within six feet of another person. These rules also apply to using any shuttle or ridesharing transportation service.
