Ask the Chancellor

Sponsored by CACS (Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Staff)

At the August 2016 UCI Staff Picnic, CACS sponsored an "Ask the Chancellor" activity, prompting event attendees to share their thoughts on items of interest to staff.  We received dozens of questions that were as diverse and interesting as our staff. Questions included topics relating to campus climate, compensation, benefits, student support, and the campus strategic plan as well as invitations to the Chancellor and expressions of gratitude.

Nine questions were selected to be answered by Chancellor Gillman in a video interview conducted by CACS co-chairs Francine Jeffrey and Dean Bill Maurer. We invite you to view the resultant video chapters using the links to the right or the thumbnails shown below.

Many other randomly selected questions were answered with the help of faculty and staff best suited to the question. Read all the questions and answers here.

WHAT IS CACS?

The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Staff (CACS) is charged with advocating for staff by facilitating communication between staff and the chancellor, with the larger goal of promoting career development, mitigating problems and creating a positive work environment.
